THANKS, GUYS!
MIND DESIGN

Samstag, November 27th, 2010

Fair enough, that animated gif is a re-post, but I guess that’s the most lively imagery I have from my time at Mind. And it catches the core of the studio over the last 2.5 years on one image: Craig, Holger, Sara (Happy Birthday!), Andy and myself. The last supper is still to come, tasty Vietnamese dinner this Sunday with the other guys from the studio, our new designer Claire and our interns Séverine and ex-NYC cop Stefano.

Currently finishing with Séverine the design for The Dock Christmas Market. Wondering if they can actually rival with a proper German Christmas Market… Anyways, more info here.

Working on some graphics for etched mirror panels. Interesting what you get to see if you have a closer look at those old animal illustrations:

I am playing the piano on my leg, Craig is doing the river dance, Holger is carpet skating, Sara is Hula dancing and Andy is doing it all at once.

THE JOY
OF BROWSING STOCK IMAGES

Donnerstag, April 30th, 2009

Well, it was unavoidable. After that exciting catalogue project (hopefully some pictures soon to follow) I am stranded down to earth again looking for sporty, powerful and brilliant high-res images for a sport shop chain. I am the high income earner at the moment in the studio.

I did something like image browsing only one time before – as a proper badly paid intern in Amsterdam. But now since I got my diploma as a graduated graphic designer I am finally able to find the true pearls among those stock sites, like this one:

SLEEP DEPRIVATION
GONE GONE GONE

Mittwoch, März 25th, 2009

The last weeks, particularly the last days tore me out of my usual “10 to 8″ days in the studio. More than a few extra hours were necessary to battle with the Dixie Chicks for the Tom Dixon Catalogue which will be on press on Thursday! This project required more than typographic knowledge and other handy graphic design tools. It was all in all rather concentrated in organizing, debating, convincing, freaking out and staying awake. I will post some more photos as soon as we get our copies of that 116 page nightmare.

SHIRTS ARRIVED
SPAM

Freitag, Oktober 31st, 2008

Today we finally got the shirts we designed a couple of weeks (months?) ago. Kevin from spamshirt asked Craig and me to create a shirt in line with his original “spam” approach. Jan and I already made a spamshirt for a fair earlier this summer. The kids liked it. This time we took it to a higher level: Craig’s shirt made me look smaller than I actually am, while my shirt turned him into a real man.
