DAY OF THE SHOE 2012
TAG DES SCHUHS 2012

Sonntag, März 24th, 2013

Last night’s “Earth Hour” reminded me of something: As in previous years I’ve missed again to dignify the “Day of the Shoe”. So I’m just copying my lousy excuse from 2011 in here (see below). One brief note on the image – I can’t recall having abused shoes to such a degree ever. They’ve been loyal companions on numerous rides over the years. I finally had to chuck them out for health&safety reasons.

Let me describe the following as “embarassing”. I was trying to set up this public holiday, or let’s title it rather “Remembrance Day”. But how can you establish something like the “Day of the Shoe” if the founder himself forgets about it (nearly) every year. Doesn’t look like I will be able any time soon to turn that day into an extra Bank Holiday in the UK.

Anyways, happy (delayed) Day of the Shoe (15 Oct)!

(More information on this day in previous posts such as that one here.)

DAY OF THE SHOE 2010
TAG DES SCHUHS 2010

Freitag, Oktober 15th, 2010

The Day of the Shoe 2010 is certainly a rather insignificant event for mankind. Brief reminder: It all started with the first post on this little blog on 15 Oct 2007. For some reason I got quite a few photos where I just captured my shoes in different situations – just like the image in my first post. Therefore this day has been declared as “The Day of the Shoe”, now being marked for the 3rd time.

DAY OF THE SHOE 2009

I can’t believe I have missed the “Day of the Shoe” and this blog’s 2nd birthday end of last year. 15 Oct 2009 to be exact. Everyone who needs to know more about that glorious day should read the 2008 introduction.

TAG DES SCHUHS 2008
DAY OF THE SHOE 2008

Happy Birthday to my digital alias! As I was told today there’s officially one last English reader left. Before I get any further complaints about purely German posts I will try to reinforce the tiny English bits on this page. Otherwise just let me know what you think about it: both, English and German, or post only in one language? I don’t really care as long as I can convey all the stuff worth mentioning.

Problem is I am mostly too tired to translate the German text since I usually post late at night =) It depends especially on my mood what to post and how to formulate it. Oh that brings me to further questions: is there anything you miss on this page? Anything you would like to see changed regarding contents and graphics? And who is reading this and previous English paragraphs at all?

I try to keep this scene as authentic and down to earth as possible. Keep it real =) At the same time it takes me also a lot of patience and time to keep this baby running – I am bothered by loads and loads of shit since any freakin’ spambot has discovered my blog.

Fair enough. I stop complaining – I declare this day from now on “The Day of the Shoe”. Here is why.

Well, what am I supposed to post at the very first time on my very first site? Hallo? Yes, that’s great. Alright, official pronouncement: this site shall serve my family, friends and those who are interested in whats going on here. (It will hopefully rebuild my wrecked English as well.) Enjoy it.

p.s. The German content on this site will vary from the English content and vice versa. Big Do, Maddin – thanks for your support.

Hallo!
